What is a CSA?

  CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture". A CSA is program through which you can buy shares of vegetables, meat, and other products directly from the farm. Usually the shares have options including vegetables, meats and other products so that you can choose what type of share you will receive to your best suit lifestyle.   

  A CSA program is bought into by either paying the full year up front or making a 50% downpayment then making a second 50% payment halfway through the summer program. Some CSA's give service for an entire calender year and other may supply products only through the "normal" growing seasons.

  What you will receive are the freshest and highest quality vegetables and other products for your money. Usually a vegetable only CSA will include leafy vegetables, melons, side dish vegetables like beans, peas, corn and salad vegetables as well in each basket. A meat or meat add-on CSA will deliver fresh farm raised meat products. Quantities will depend on the CSA options you choose when you sign up.

 

Six Oaks Farm CSA 2019

  Six Oaks Farm CSA 2019 will start accepting mamberships beginning February 14th, 2019. We expect to start delivery of CSA baskets in early April 2019 and will conclude the 2019 CSA at the end of September. We do expect to offer a "Late Season" CSA at a date to be determined later this coming summer.

 

What's in the Basket?

 

 Six Oaks Farm will be including fresh, pesticide and chemical free vegetables including:

• Watermelon

• Cucumber

• Zucchini

• Potato

• Squash

• Radish

• Sweet Potato

• Cantaloupe

• Peas

• Beans

• Kale

• Corn

• Collard

• Lettuce

• Turnip

• Eggplant

• Okra

• Tomato

• Peppers

• Note that not all of the listed vegetables will be in every basket. They will begin being available as they ripen for harvest.

• Note: Occasionally baskets will include "bonus" items such as fresh cut flowers, etc.

Costs

  A summer season CSA membership costs $325.00 for the season for a regular basket. A large basket will cost $455.00 for the summer season. Each membership will include 12 bi-weekly deliveries of vegetables starting on April 18th and ending on September 19, 2019.

 

  Memberships can be paid in full in advance and receive a $25.00 discount for regular basket membership or a $35.00 discount for a large basket mebership.

 

  Members can also send a deposit of 50% to be added to the membership with the balance due on or before July 4th, 2019.

 

  A pork add-on option will be available starting in May 2019. I will post details here and will include flyers in each members baskets with details as the time grows closer to adding this option.

 

  Deliveries will be on a bi-weekly basis with pickup at the farm near Jonesville, S.C.  on Saturdays from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M.

 

  Delivery will also be available within a 25 mile radius of the farm for a fee of $8.00 for each delivery.
